Personality: Yamato Man is the physical embodiment of the ancient Bushido code of the samurai. The eight principles of the code are what Yamato stands for and believes in. He is not talkative, only speaking when needed and usually only in a few words or metaphors. He sees everyone, even his enemies, with honor and respect and he never allows hatred to take him over. He believes there is some good in everything and everyone, even in the current state of Vol. He will not back down from a fight if there is a need to fight, but if the fight is useless, he is reluctant to battle.

Background: Some 5000 years ago, there existed a group of warriors who were called the samurai in the far Eastern Orient of Vol. These men were a highly skilled group of soldiers who perfected all that they did in life. They lived their life by the Bushido code, the eight pillars of conduct. To make sure their beliefs endured for all time, they constructed the Bushido temple on the top of a high mountain. Because technology flourished during the time of peace on Vol, they created one cyborg samurai, the perfect embodiement of everything the samurai believed in. They named him Ouji Takagashi, but he was commonly called Yamato Man. His sole purpose of existence was to guard the Bushido temple for all time and keep alive the traditions of the old. After the passing of the samurai clan, Yamato and the temple were all that remained of their civilization. For the past 5000 years Yamato Man has guarded the temple and practiced in the ways of the old. However, there was a time when he was transported to another universe and fought the oppresion of an evil emperor named Darvos who had taken over a far away world...

Character Abilities:

Skills: Yamato Man is very skilled in everything he does, as he has been doing it everyday for the past 5000 years. He is an expert horserider, as he is never without his cyborg horse Fuunsaki. Aside from his fighting skills, he is very good at predicting what his opponent will do next, although he has no official future-seeing powers. His amount of concentration is unprecedented, and because of it, he is able to do whatever he does flawlessly and to perfection.

Armament: Yamato Man's main weapon is not a normal spear, as it previously has been, but is a tradition yari, or Japanese polearm. (I'll try to get a pic up later) It is not used to throw, but as a long-ranged stabbing and slashing weapon. His other main weapon is a traditional samurai katana. He also carries a Japanese short sword and tanto. All of his blade weapons are made of a perfected, high-energy blade that is virtually indestructible and can cut through pretty much anything except another blade. For long range, Yamato has a bow and a limitless amount of beam arrows. The bow and arrows are kept on his horse.

Protection: Yamato Man favors speed in battle, trying not to get hit. His armor his very tough, and can withstand laser shots and blades to some degree. Sometimes, he will use his katana sheath to block attacks.

Style: Yamato Man prefers using his polearm, but also uses his katana quite frequently. He fights with both in a very quick, yet powerful style, finishing off his opponent in as few moves as possible. He will use his short sword and dagger for backup. He is extremely skilled with his weapons, as he has been training with them everyday for 5000 years. His a perfect shot with his bow, but the rate of fire is rather slow, and he will only use it if he is far away. Just in case he has to fight hand-to-hand, Yamato is also very skilled with several martial arts styles.
He will fight while on his horse as much as possible, using his polearm and katana to make charges. He is never without his trusty cyborg steed.
