Overview & Summary |
| Overview What has gone on so far by CapCom Here's the plot so far. In the three months after the destruction of Zebes, Space Pirates began openly - and effectively - attacking ships without warning. There was no reason for this sudden onslaught and the purpose behind it will undoubtedly be a major plot point. Anyway, Fed got pissed and the R&D department decided to crush the nuisance by creating a ship that was faster, stronger, and deadlier than anything else. This ship would destroy anything that got in its path and at last bring about galactic peace (hmm...that's an oxymoron...). But nobody wanted to build it. Nobody, that is, except for the ambitious company Mushiyhara. So, they constructed a top-secret base in an unimportant sector of the galaxy and began creating and testing the prototype craft, named Ragnarok. Unfortunately, just after several important enhancements such as cloaking material and a super weapon were installed, the ship went rogue and pretty much destroyed the base. Since the Ragnarok would be able to wipe out half of the fleet in no time at all, a large bounty was secretly posted for her capture and a tactical fleet was deployed to hunt down and capture or destroy the Ragnarok if necessary. Samus took the job and went out in search of her prey. Unfortunately, somebody had already got there first, and the result wasn't pretty. A rival hunter, Curin Nesmouth had located the Ragnarok, but his ship was hit pretty bad and chased out of the sector by Pirates. Samus destroyed one of the craft and picked up Curin. They are now trying to board the Pirate ship for reasons that may be obvious-and may not be. On another note, Chris and Kris, information gatherers extraordinaire, have got a lead on the Ragnarok's existence and Kris is going to attend a banquet with top-ranking officials for more info. Lastly, there is a little piece of information regarding the Talese system and it's sun that would go nova in a matter of days. If you remember reading about the Ragnarok's super weapon, a bomb that is powered using Metroid biotechnology and can effectively create a small big-bang when used, then you can put two and two together.... Now if only Samus was smart enough to realize that before too many episodes go by...hehe...
Summary Ok. Good to see that I still have my sense of humor! Here's what has gone on before (or at least after the last summary message. nameless, please erase the 'To Inflictor' message below that) Samus and Curin board the Space Pirate craft and head towards the bridge. There, they blast their way in and see two dead Space Pirates lying on the floor. Only they don't look like Space Pirates. Apparently, something 'shed' the Space Pirate bodies (Space Pirates don't shed their whole body armor at once). The two notice this, but a little too late. A dark creature jumps down from the ceiling on top of Curin and inserts its hand into his spine for whatever reason. Samus reacts to save her new partner and in blowing up the creature, a part of Curin's back is blown off. She quickly heals it up using her suit's self-repairing gel and lugs the bounty hunter back to her ship's regeneration pod. In the meantime, the star system, Telese, Car'arano Voletia, captain of the Ark, is in the process of evacuating life forms from the star system, whose sun is going to go nova. This will apparently have some sort of importance with the Ragnarok's weapon. Also, at a state dinner, Chris and Kris confront Senator Ruple and use blackmail to get information regarding the Ragnarok from him. Their knowledge of the little project grows with each passing minute. Samus by now has taken Curin back to her ship and he is inside a regen pod. She then heads out to track down the remaining creature and realizes that it is inside the Pirate Ship, due to go back online in any minute. When she head to the engine room, she spots it trying to overload the fusion reactor and evacuates. As the fighter explodes, the Ragnarok decloaks right in front of her. Samus concocts a plan and takes Curin out of the regen pod, putting him inside a stealth escape pod. She commands her craft to enter hyperspace seconds after ejection and programs her system to use the Dimarilo device which will create hundreds of copies of her ship. She gets inside the pod Curin is in (as far as we know, her ship has only one pod) and ejects, activating the Dimarilo device and launching a drone from her ship before it enters hyperspace to Zela port thirty seconds later (I'd personally change the time, but that's just me. It says thirty, so it's thirty. We'll assume she hits the override and sends the ship into hyperspace immediately after launching the probe.) Samus sets course for an out of the way docking port and hopes she can make it before something goes horribly, horribly wrong... A note on the 'creatures' These little guys are brownish-black and have three black eyes and clear bluish liquid around the stomach. Just so you know, they aren't 'Aliens'. I believe I should give a bit of a description to them, but you should probably figure out what they are through the description in 'Two Hunters and a Rogue'. Oh hell, I'll tell you what I think they are. They're Metroid hybrids combining Metroid and Space Pirate DNA. How many are there? Who knows! But my guess is there could be more than one... How were they made? Who knows! It could be related to the Ragnarok, and it could not be related... Do the Pirates control the Ragnarok? That remains to be seen... |
